The Washington Post has created a new web-based portal called “Head Count” that allows you to track, real-time, the top-level appointments in the White House and in the agencies. They’ve identified 487 positions that require confirmation by the Senate that they’re tracking. You can search by name and by agency. You can see the demographic composition of the team, a biographical thumbnail, as well as how each individual is politically connected.
It should be a great resource for keeping up with the appointment process, as well as afterwards. Once the team is filled out, this should serve as a great guide for understanding the dynamics and relationships of the broader team.
