New York Time’s David Sanger analyzed President Obama’s recent European visit in “Hints of Obama’s Strategy in a Telling 8 Days.” While the article centers on Obama’s foreign affairs approach, the themes he describes seems to parallel some of what he is doing in domestic areas.
Sanger asks: “So, 77 days into his presidency, is there an emerging Obama grand strategy?” and he answers that Obama is pragmatic, conciliatory, and incremental. Foreign officials interviewed responded with phrases I’ve heard from federal officials: “we are beginning to see a strategy. What we don’t know yet is whether he can implement it.”
The implementation efforts under development in a number of areas seem encouraging, especially in those using collaborative networks. More tomorrow!
